Classic Airwaves: Casablanca Radio Play

Wayfarer Theaters Presents an exciting new series- Classic Airwaves LIVE! - Live theatrical readings of Classic Radio Play's from the 40's. The rediscovered radio plays will be brought to life by live performers recreating the experience of being on air sharing classic stories from the time. Our first offerings are The Wizard of Oz April 3rd, 7th, 10th and 13th and Casablanca April 17th, 21st, 24th, and 28th (Wednesdays and Sundays 7pm - run time approx. 90mins. Tickets $20 Casablanca Synopsis-Casablanca tells the story of a cynical American expatriate who must choose between a second chance with the woman he loves, or the nobler cause of the fight against Nazi tyranny. It’s romantic, quick-witted, hopeful, and redeeming—all qualities that were much appreciated during a time of global war and uncertainty. It’s as applicable now as it was then. Wizard of Oz Synopisis-Dorothy and her dog Toto find themselves in the strange land of Oz after a cyclone hits her Aunt and Uncle's house in Kansas. To return home, Dorothy must follow the yellow brick road to find the famous Wizard of Oz who lives in the beautiful Emerald City. On her strange and sometimes frightening journey, she meets the Scarecrow, who is desperate to acquire some brains, the Tin Woodman who wants a heart and the cowardly Lion who wants to gain courage. When they finally get to see Oz - in all his different guises - he sets them a terrible task which must be fulfilled before he will grant them their wishes.
